2017 Resolutions

I am a big believer in resolutions.  I love making lofty goals for the new year.  So without further ado, here are my 2017 resolutions!

1. Read at least 1 book per week.  I want to always be reading something.

2. Cross-post my reviews on other platforms (Amazon, B&N, etc.).  This is especially important because of one of the reading challenges I'm doing this year.

3. Complete all of my reading challenges.  I'm hoping it will be easy this year.

4. Be okay with taking time off.  With my wedding at the end of July, I know I won't have a lot of time to devote to reading/ blogging.

5. Keep up with my planner.  I switched mid-year last year into a Happy Planner, and I do not regret it!  I hope to be doing more planner related content in the new year!

Short and sweet this year!  What are some of your resolutions for 2017?

2016 Goals Recap

Reading
1. Read at least one book per week. There were some weeks I read none, and there were some weeks that I would read three.  I guess I can't control how much I read.

2. Read more middle grade novels.  I read more middle grade in 2016 than I read in 2015, but I can always get better.

3. Read all of my book club books this year.  Ha!  This was super bad!  I still want to try to read these, but if I can't, I won't stress about it.

4. Listen to at least two classics this year.  Didn't do this either.  I think this next year I'm going to focus on rereading my favorite children's classics.

Blogging
5. Make and stick to a schedule when it comes to posting.  I did stick to the schedule throughout most of 2016.  Mid-November and December I've been posting every day except Sunday.

6. Be better about scheduling posts. I think I've finally found a good routine when I'm scheduling posts.

Personal
7. Work out at least 3x a week.  Ugh no.  Why is this something I struggle with completely?

8. Write more.  I have done almost no writing in 2016.  I hope to change that in 2017.

9. Make healthier food when the boyfriend is gone.  This was better this year.  I made a lot of simple meals, or made big meals on Sundays with lots of leftovers.

10. Try at least one new recipe a month.  We still do this, but I want to be more intentional about it in 2017.

11. Keep up with my planner.  So... I switched planners mid-year.  I'm now using a Happy Planner and I'm loving it.  I'd also like to do more blog posts about planning, etc. in 2017.

TTT: 2016 Resolutions

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.  This week's theme is my Resolutions for 2016.  Here we go!

Reading
1. Read at least one book per week. 2015 I struggled with reading, especially at the end of the year.  I want to get back into the habit, even if it is one book per week.

2. Read more middle grade novels.  I still would like to incorporate more middle grade novels.  I'd like to try to do at least 6 in 2016.

3. Read all of my book club books this year.  I started off really well last year, but I can only get better!

4. Listen to at least two classics this year.  I still want to do this in 2016.  The boyfriend will be gone a lot in February- April, so I should plan on getting audios to clean to.

Blogging
5. Make and stick to a schedule when it comes to posting.  As of right now, I'm planning on doing a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday schedule.

6. Be better about scheduling posts.  I do have the majority of my posts planned out through February.  Now I just need to find time to sit down and write a lot.

Personal
7. Work out at least 3x a week.  I started a fitness class through my work, but I need something else that I can do the other days of the week.

8. Write more.  I'd love to write some children's picture books, but I just need to find the time to sit down and write.  I also have another story idea that has been floating around in my head.

9. Make healthier food when the boyfriend is gone.  I fall into this trap of not planning enough when the boyfriend is out of town.  I get hungry and then because I have nothing planned I fall back into easy food like pizza.  I have a crock-pot.  I need to use it!

10. Try at least one new recipe a month.  I still want to do this.  I also want to get into the habit of posting the recipes on here so that I can keep track of this goal better.

11. Keep up with my planner.  I bought an Erin Condren life planner for 2016 (and a lot of stickers), and one of my goals is to keep up with planning.  I want to be able to look back at the end of 2016 and use my ECLP as a scrapbook.

There you have it!  What are your goals for 2016?

2015 Resolution Update

Last year I created some goals for myself in 2015.  It was an eventful year.  Read on to see how I fared with my goals.
Reading
1. Cut back on the picture books.  I cut back a lot.  I only read picture books by my favorite authors.

2. Read more middle grade novels.  I really didn't do too well on this goal.  I need to be better about this next year.

3. Read all of my book club books this year.  Some family stuff got in the way of this goal at the end of 2015, but I started out the year fairly well.

4. I will not let my Goodreads To-Read shelf exceed 300 books.  I took a lot of books off  that I was never going to read, and tried to be really selective on ones I chose.  I'm currently sitting at 140.

5. Listen to at least two classics this year.  Ha!  This never happened.  Maybe in 2016?

Blogging
6. Make and stick to a schedule when it comes to posting.  I stopped blogging from mid-May to late November.  I got really burnt out from graduating and summer library programming.  I just needed a really long break.

7. I'd like to create my own feature.  I didn't do this.  I'm planning on expanding my content starting in the new year, so I'm hoping that will inspire me to create something new.

8. Keep up with my 2015 reading challenges.  Again, I did really well with this January - May.  I probably kept up with some of my goals, but it doesn't matter.  I won't be doing any challenges in 2016.

Personal
9. Work out at least 3x a week.  I started doing a workout class at work, but I'm still not up to 3x/week.  Eventually I will!

10. Try at least one new recipe a month.  The boyfriend and I love to try new recipes.  We really haven't done any repeats.

How did you do on your resolutions for 2015?
