The Magic of Gingerbread by Catherine Beddall
Published by Peter Pauper Press Inc. in September 2016
"There's something magical about gingerbread. What is it about gingerbread houses that bring a smile to our face? For children, its not hard to imagine, that the smiles most likely come from the joyful anticipation of eating all of that colorful candy! As adults, perhaps seeing these festive houses takes us back to our youth, a time when we were carefree, and visions of sugarplums danced in our heads." -From Goodreads
I pulled this book off of the new shelf in the library just because of its cover. The cover is gorgeous. It pulls you in. Makes you want to build your own gingerbread birdhouse. This book does make you think you could build your own gingerbread house, and with its easy directions it's totally possible to do so.
Pictures: The gingerbread are beautifully photographed. I don't feel as if there is a shortage of photographs in this book. Each recipe has the end-product photo plus a couple step-by-step photos of the "tricky" part of putting each item together.
Such a beautiful book that can be added in to the baker's rotation at Christmastime.
Disclosure: I borrowed a copy of this book from my local library.
